Which Is The Best Acne Treatment?

April 29th, 2008 admin Posted in Acne Treatment No Comments »

The Keys to Successful Acne Treatment

If you have acne and you are looking for the best acne treatment, look no further because there are several options to choose from. Treating acne is not rocket science nor is it simple either. There is no ONE way to ensure a 100% successful acne treatment right up front as many factors affect recovery such as severity of acne, your specific skin type, and your current lifestyle habits.

Your skin’s reaction to treatment may vary depending on the type of approach and medication your dermatologist recommends. It may take weeks or months to see the result of treatment but it is worth the wait.

Acne Treatment Options

* Herbal treatments. Considered as the safest and most risk-free option, herbal treatments offer a variety of benefits to almost all skin types. If you don’t like harsh chemicals applied on your skin, then go for the all-natural approach. For instance, you can use fruits (pureed and applied on your skin) instead of over-the-counter medication.

Tea tree oil is also a known all-natural home remedy. Simply dilute a few drops in water and apply on your skin. Applying oatmeal on the skin is also popular.

* High tech acne devices and gadgets. Today, there are plenty of machines and gizmos that cater to the treatment of acne at different severity levels. Of course, with high tech treatments, the costs are higher too. The advantage though is that they can cater to a wide array of acne problems and you are more likely to see positive results sooner than other ‘natural’ treatements.

* Acne creams and solutions. Acne creams are readily available and cheap. You can get the over the counter (OTC) variety but customized acne treatment creams are probably better. These creams are solutions recommended and created by dermatologists based on results of them testing your skin.

A customized acne treatment is also preferable because they cater to the precise needs of the patient’s skin without compromising other factors. Natural ingredients are commonly used nowadays to produce customized acne creams, especially for picky patients who hate synthetic medications. A successful acne treatment can be attributed to many factors. The patient’s skin is important to consider first before acne treatment begins. Tests to diagnose the needs of the skin to prevent acne outbreak is essential to address the exact concerns.

Although many treatments are born and offer great promises, it is still important to consider the downfalls such as imperfect skin after treatment due to scars and craters. Another treatment may follow suit to treat the scarring if the patient wants to have almost flawless skin once again. Of course, acne treatments are best supported by a healthy lifestyle. Eating right, having healthy habits and avoiding anything that will aggravate your skin are essential.

Laser Acne Treatment

March 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Acne Treatment 1 Comment »

In order to describe laser acne treatment accurately I would first have to describe acne. Acne is a condition caused by skin cells that do not shed properly and plug pores, causing oil and bacteria to be trapped inside. As the oil and bacteria accumulates, the skin becomes inflamed and swells outwards forming the familiar whiteheads, blackheads and pimples.

There are 2 basic groups of lasers and light-based systems used for treating acne. One group prevents the growth of the bacteria that is involved in acne lesions; the other shrinks the sebaceous oil glands that play an important part in acne. Laser Acne Treatment uses a wavelength specifically designed to target the acne forming oil glands. There are two types of lasers that are most used for this treatment; the Pulsed Dye Laser, which, in most cases, will show results after just one treatment without serious negative side effects, and the 1450 nm Infrared Laser. The 1450 nm Infrared Laser decreases lesions in the skin by 83% after the first three treatments. The type of laser that is used is determined by patient’s skin type, type of acne, and if any scarring has already occurred.

What should you expect on your visits for the treatment? First, the treatment area will be cleaned followed by a thin layer of gel. The laser hand piece is then positioned over the desired treatment area and brushed over pushing lightly on the skin. At this time the laser light will be penetrating the skin. Most patients describe the laser acne treatment as if a rubber band is being snapped against the skin, uncomfortable but not painful. There is also a numbing cream that can be used if it becomes too uncomfortable.

The laser acne treatment has been found to produce more positive results than most any topical over the counter acne medication to date. Doctors have reported that taking just one treatment has reduced acne severity by more than half in their patients and the acne continues to improve over a series of three to four monthly treatments. Studies have shown that patients can achieve clearance of acne lesions in the 95% and over range.

It has been discovered that not only will the laser session treat acne; it will also cause stimulation to collagen cells renewing the skin and preventing future outbreaks. In mild to moderate acne the most significant reduction in acne was observed two months after the last treatment was given. In conclusion, the laser acne treatment has been an effective way to treat, as well as prevent breakouts. Millions of Americans suffer from acne, you shouldn’t have to. This may be a great solution for you!

Maybe, the most prominent effects of acne to a person are the psychological and inferior complex that they suffer from due to the blackheads, pimples and zits that they have during acne. And acne is not something that occurs only in a particular age or even on a particular part of the body. Acne can appear even in the thirties and forties and on many parts of the body, particularly the hands, legs and forearms.

Acne is mainly caused due to the increase in the hormones like androgen during puberty. These hormones have an effect on the oil glands of the skin, which result in acne. Acne can get severe and result in other skin conditions. Also, if the acne is just ignored, people may have to opt for surgical treatments which are known to create very visible scars and marks on the skin.

The best bet to have acne no more is to have a healthy lifestyle and diet. Water is one of the most important and necessary weapon in the war against acne. Water acts as a natural flusher of toxins and other harmful chemicals in the body. The ideal scenario is when a person drinks about eight glasses of water per day. Of course, one of the simplest ways to prevent acne is to wash your face with warm water and soap before and after you go out. Sun tan may have a positive effect on the prevention of acne, but exposure to sunlight for prolonged periods of time will actually increase the amount of pimples and blackheads in your body.

Another popular cure for acne is tea tree oil. It is one of the most commonly used home remedies for acne. Tea tree oil has a generous amount of terpinen-4-ol. This ingredient is the main recipe for the antibacterial activity that the tea tree oil is known for. Since tea tree oil is antibacterial, it is supposed to kill the bacteria on the skin that is responsible for the creation of acne on the skin. Acne can mostly be cured with over the shelf antibacterial agents. Some of the popular acne treatment creams and lotions are:

  • Azelex
  • Benzaclin
  • Benzamycin
  • Brevoxyl Creamy Wash
  • Cleocin
  • Doxycycline (Monodox)
  • Duac
  • Differin
  • Minocyclin (Minocin)
  • Retin A
  • Retin a Micro
  • Tazorac

There are other home remedies and over the counter available treatments for acne. You should be very careful while opting for a home grown treatment for acne. For one, you should be sure about any allergies you would have before you decide to use a cream, lotion or any other home grown treatment for acne.

Natural antibiotics are very underrated when it comes to treating acne. With all the side effects that the medical antibiotics carry while treating your acne, it may be a good choice to switch medical antibiotics to natural antibiotics. Research on long term consumption of medical antibiotics has shown a greater chance of bacterial tolerance and a degraded liver functionality. The big secret of natural antibiotics for acne

We use antibiotics to kill acne causing bacterias. We have been using those pills or topical gel for such a long time effectively that it is very hard to ignore just how good they are at treating acne. But what most of us don’t know yet is that antibiotics of natural sources exist and still do the job similarly well, if not better, than medical antibiotics.

Wondering what are the best natural antibiotics? Some of the best of these include ginger, turmeric, onions and the similar kinds of plant in the family. They are very good for your health if you just consume them regularly. My personal experience with these herbal remedies has told me that these most overlooked herbs can do a lot more than those conventional acne products or medications.

I have since then stopped using any expensive medicine and products after consuming these magical herbs. In other words I have saved at least a five thousand dollars on medical treatment, cleansers, pills, creams and other so called proactive acne solution.

How to use these magical herbs effectively:

  • You make juices out of them and drink glasses of these herbs as frequent as possible. Since there are no side effects, only positive effect you can expect your body to feel better after drinking these juices. I recommend that you pick one herb that you most like among these herbs and drink them as juices regularly, preferably 3 times a day or more.
  • You can add these herbs to your food.

Basically, it is more effective to drink pure juices of these natural herbs. Ginger, turmeric, onion and other herbs in this family are very effective at killing harmful bacterias, including those that cause acne. Without any side effects, you can consume them with a sense of relief knowing that they would not cause any long term harm to your body. These herbs also will improve your immune system as well as regulate your hormone system. Both of these aspects are very important to any part of your body, let alone your skin and acne condition. With an improved immune system, you body itself will be able to kill acne causing bacterias as well as many many other benefits. And a balanced hormone system will reduce the production of sebum and the chances of the formation of hormonal acne.

Keep in mind that before you go on and try other expensive treatments and medications that are advertised heavily on the TV and magazines, give this treatment option a try too. Just for a month and you can expect your face and acne condition to improve a lot. I am handing you a greater and better solution than what you can get for the expensive acne medications. source

Acne Treatment for Men

February 21st, 2008 admin Posted in Acne Treatment No Comments »

When I used to work as a sales associate for a lousy phone company I was always embarrassed to give out a sales pitch because of my horrible skin. It was everything that bad skin was. My skin was too oily. When I would try to prevent it from becoming to oily it then became to dry and my skin started to peal and then creating even more pimples and blemishes. I could not even get at least one sale in one day or two days. I was frustrated with my skin and I felt like ripping it off. Until i found the best acne treatment for men.

So, then I started looking in the internet for acne treatment for men. I was then came upon a remedy that changed my life forever. The remedy was simple did not take that much time or money. Let me remind you that I have tried Proactive, Murad, Acne Free, Clearsil, Neutragena, and everything else that promises you clear skin. The remedy included Baking Soda, and a hot rag or towel. I would then start off with the baking soda. I would make the baking soda into a paste by mixing it with a little bit of water. The remedy said to apply to affected areas. My whole face was affected so I just had to apply the paste to my whole face. Every night I would apply this paste. The paste drys your pimples out leaving them to look and feel like frozen little mountains. Don’t worry they will only look like this with the paste on. So every morning I would wash off the paste because it drys up into sort of like a facial mask. Once I wash my face it feels refreshing and almost all pimples are washed off along with baking soda.

I would then cover my face with a hot cloth. This hot cloth will open my pores, which some people think its a bad thing but it will allow for the dirt in my pores to wash away. I would do this about everyday or every other day. On the 2nd week my skin was completed clear. I did not have to use lotion on my face anymore, I did not have to go through a 30 min 3 step process to wash my face. By far this was an amazing acne treatment for men. I just followed those instructions on the remedy and had clear skin within 2 weeks. For me this was the best acne treatment for men. I think everyone should know this method it can work for anybody. Thanks to this remedy I now have clear skin. source

Acne Treatment - Medication or Natural Cures

February 19th, 2008 admin Posted in Acne Treatment No Comments »

If you are reading this the chances are that you are one of the 80% of people who have been affected by acne problems , most commonly in the teenage years. For some it can be very embarrassing and demoralising to find your face covered in spots and inflamed red patches.

The question is: How do you deal with it? How do you cure acne?

Acne creams The answer for many people is to buy some over-the-counter product, usually a cream in the hope that the product will “zap those zits”. Unfortunately many of these products simply don’t work. They don’t work because they focus on dealing with the symptoms, individual spots, rather than the cause of the acne. While a cream may be zapping an individual zit the skin is generating new spots and pimples.

Acne spots and pimples don’t just appear out of nowhere. They appear because of a problem below the surface of the skin. Over-the-counter products don’t deal with this problem. Why go to the trouble of attempting to get rid of one pimple if more are on the way which the cream cannot prevent?

Antibiotics As acne is an infection caused by bacteria then some people try to get a doctor to prescribe an antibiotic. However there are constantly stories in the press about doctors becoming reluctant to over-prescribe antibiotics. There are more and more stories about ’super-bugs’ which are resistant to antibiotics. Antibiotics can be a blunt instrument which can weaken the body’s own immune system leaving you vulnerable to other infections. Outbreaks of acne can occur for several years. Who knows what are the side effects of taking an antibiotic for years on end in a ceaseless battle against acne?

Curing acne not just treating it Curing acne depends on dealing with the causes of acne. Acne pimples break out not suddenly but through a build up over several days of infection under the skin. The pores (tiny holes) in the skin can get blocked by an excess of a naturally produced skin oil, which in normal quantities is fine, but which if over-produced by over-stimulated skin glands, creates a breeding ground for harmful acne-producing bacteria. Stop the over-production of oil and you will go a long way to stopping the acne infection.

So what causes the over-stimulation of the skin glands?

The principal causes of the over-activity of the skin glands are hormonal changes. Teenagers and pregnant women can experience higher levels of hormones called androgens which in turn stimulate the skin glands into greater activity.

Diet Poor diet can also exaggerate hormonal changes leading to acne. A diet high in vegetable oils, sugar, caffeine and alcohol can be especially damaging. The worst culprit is vegetable oil, which is not only used in cooking but also appears in many junk foods and snacks such as chips, french fries, and cookies. Many processed foods and most soft drinks contain high and hidden levels of sugar. Sugar is so addictive that if you eat a lot in processed foods you will want more and more of similar foods.

Healthy diet By contrast a diet rich in fresh or frozen vegetables have been found to reduce significantly outbreaks of acne, even for teenagers who are experiencing turbulent hormone changes. A key weapon is to drink water, lots of it. At least 10 glasses a day. Stopping the body from becoming dehydrated will help keep the body ‘in balance’. That will help stabilise the natural functioning of the body.

So there is a cure for acne for many people. It is a natural cure, a natural remedy which you can apply to yourself at home. It is a cure for acne which you know you can trust because it can start to restore the natural health of the whole body. Work on that and you will develop a natural cure for your specific problem of acne. Good luck. source

Clear Up Acne With Top Acne Treatment Methods

February 18th, 2008 admin Posted in Acne Treatment No Comments »

Acne can affect just about anyone of any age. It is a condition that is not limited to only teenagers or women. What makes it worse is that the condition can be recurring if not treated properly. While there are many prescription medications to treat acne, the best approach for long-term healthy skin is to use natural top acne treatment methods.

The very first thing one has to be disciplined about when treating acne is to wash your face daily. This may sound like common sense but there are many people who think that cleansing their face means splashing water while in the shower. Well it is a little more than that. You need to first choose a proper cleanser that is made for acne treatment. This cleanser will remove the dirt, oil and dust from your face. Also if the cleanser contains salicylic acid, it can help to unclog the pores as well. Also use lukewarm water when washing, as this is gentler on your skin and aids in the unclogging of pores. Choose an acne facial wash that is gentle on the skin and is not over drying.

You can also exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to get rid of surface dead skin cells. Exfoliation can be done in the form of using a solution that contains fruit acids or salicylic acid. There are also facial scrubs that provide very gentle exfoliation. However, note that if you are having acne cyst, it is best not to use a grainy facial scrub as the rubbing may spread the inflammation and worsen the acne.

Supplement your acne skin care with an increase of fruit intake. Also you may take herbal supplements that help to clear acne. Reduce caffeine and spicy foods if you have more severe acne.

Acne can be treated naturally as long as you are using products that are right for you. If you are not sure which to choose from, go check out websites on acne treatment reviews. The best acne products are usually highly raved and popular. source

Acne- the word itself is a big issue with most of us. But why so? Acne is not as dangerous as cancer or say aids, that cannot becured. In fact, it is easy to get rid of acne. What you need for this is a bit of change in your habits including cleanliness of your skin, your diet and your routine. Its not that you will have to leave your home and shift on to Himalayas! Acne is the blockage of the skin pores with the inflammation of the sebaceous glands of your skin and this is due to the dead skin cells. This blockage occurs due to a change in the quality or the quantity of the oils or the sebum produced by these glands. And as a result, the pores of your skin get closed causing whiteheads and the opening of the pores is called blackheads. If not cured, they cause an infection inside resulting into acne.

Do not forget to clean your face and neck with a good glycerin soap with warm water to keep your face free from dirt and harmful oils. Also, apply some good moisturizer before you go to bed if you still feel your skin dry. One more important thing is, do change your pillow cover as soon as possible. As our skin releases some oils when we are sleeping

and these oils should not come in contact again the other day. If not daily, then do change them on the alternate days. This you have to do as long as your skin is in trouble. After you get clear of acne, then you can change the pillow covers after 3-4 days and please, not more than that.
